If you’ve ever wondered what happens when cutting-edge tech, geek culture, and a splash of South African flavor collide, Comic Con South Africa 2025 had the answer: absolute magic.

This year, I had the chance to dive into the heart of it all — and yes, even my girlfriend joined in on the fun, cosplaying as me by rocking a Pro-IT shirt. (Honestly, I think she pulled it off better than I do!)
The Expo Floor: From RGB to AI
Walking in, the first thing that hits you is the neon glow and the hum of excitement.
Samsung showed off the 2025 New Odyssey displays, promising “The Next Phase of Gaming.”
MSI and ASUS ROG unleashed AI-powered laptops in full-on battle zones.
Logitech pitched productivity mastery with “Master Your Flow.”

PC Builder had a mini-arena where I had a chance to put my reflexes to the test (“Your Technology Partner” branded on my back, of course! — always on brand).
Toyota Supra & the Gaming Engine
Toyota brought the heat — literally. Their new Toyota Supra was wrapped in anime-inspired artwork as part of their Toyota Gaming Engine showcase. This wasn’t just a car; it was a rolling piece of pop culture.
Cosplay & Characters Come Alive
Comic Con wouldn’t be Comic Con without the wild mix of cosplay.
I managed to grab a photo with a tech-priest-style cosplayer straight out of Warhammer.
Everywhere you turned, characters from anime, comics, and games brought the floor to life.
The Joker, Batman, and Mandalorian-themed art walls proved that geek culture remains timeless.
Nintendo: Play Together, Anywhere
The Nintendo booth was pure nostalgia mixed with next-gen excitement. Giant red walls, massive Switch displays, and banners for classics like Zelda, Kirby, Mario Kart, and Metroid created a festival of gaming joy.
Of course, this was the perfect place for a “couple cosplay moment” — my girlfriend and I both in Pro-IT gear, side by side, proving that the couple that games together stays together.

Merch, Minis & Masterpieces
From custom Dragon Ball Z Lego-style minifigures to monstrous handcrafted sculpts, the merch stands were a collector’s dream. Street art also had its moment — live graffiti of Doctor Doom gave Comic Con its local creative flavour.
Loot Acquired: Posters, Tees & Patches
Of course, no Comic Con adventure is complete without bringing home some loot. I grabbed two A3 posters — one featuring Deadpool and the other Batman — because walls need heroes and anti-heroes alike.
On top of that, I picked up an Assassin’s Creed T-shirt, perfect for casual Fridays or sneaky rooftop parkour (whichever comes first). To finish it off, I couldn’t resist a couple of patches: one with the iconic Mortal Kombat dragon and another for our honorary Pro-IT member — my girlfriend — a raccoon proudly declaring, “It’s called a trash can, not a trash cannot.” Pure gold. She also scored a quirky candle that doubles as a body lotion, because even Comic Con loot should multitask.
Why Pro-IT Belongs Here
At first glance, Comic Con might look like it’s all fun and cosplay. But scratch the surface and it’s a showcase of how technology powers imagination. From AI-driven laptops to immersive gaming rigs, the same tech we deploy in business is driving the next frontier of play.
At Pro-IT, we get it: tech isn’t just cables and screens — it’s what connects us to new worlds.
Final Thoughts
Comic Con South Africa 2025 wasn’t just a con — it was a reminder that tech, art, and community feed into each other. And like a good bag of biltong, it’s best enjoyed shared.
Until next time: keep your bytes crispy and your biltong spicy.
