Clear Microsoft Teams Cache

Occasionally, Microsoft Teams may lose functionality or, in the worst case, prevent you from logging in with your credentials. When this happens, it's generally recommended to clear the Microsoft Teams cache. We will now guide you through the process of clearing this cache.

  1. First, you must close your Microsoft Teams application. You can do this by clicking the X in the top right corner of the application.

  1. It is crucial to make sure that Teams is fully closed and not just minimized to the system tray. To achieve this, click the up arrow in the bottom-right corner of the screen, right-click the Microsoft Teams Icon, and choose the "Quit" option. Microsoft Teams will then be completely closed.

ree
  1. Now we can open the Run application by pressing the windows key + R.

ree
  1. Once open please copy and paste the following in the dialog box: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams

  2. This will now open a folder location. You can now delete all the files/folders in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams directory as shown below.

ree
  1. After finishing, please reopen Microsoft Teams and sign in with your credentials if asked.

  2. If the cache clear did not solve your Microsoft Teams related issue please contact our IT support through the following channels namely via an email sent to support@pro-it.biz and a technician will be assigned to attend to your problem.
